Giant and Liv's new flagship gravel racers land in Australia from $8,999

Giant and Liv have pulled the wraps off completely reworked flagship gravel bikes, the Giant Revolt Advanced SL and the Liv Devote Advanced SL, after teasing prototypes at Unbound Gravel. Where the previous generation of both bikes split its focus between racing and bikepacking, Giant says the new versions are built with one goal: being the fastest gravel race bikes it can make. Both share the same high modulus carbon construction, though Liv keeps its own sizing and cockpit dimensions tuned for its typical rider.

Lighter, and built as a system

The top-spec Revolt Advanced SL 0 is a claimed 288 grams lighter than the outgoing model despite running wider tyres, with the frame and fork alone shedding 176 grams through a revised carbon layup. Giant also redesigned the wheels and cockpit as one package: the new Cadex Max GXR carbon wheelset saves a further 118 grams and pairs 50mm deep rims with 45mm tyres for lower drag, while a one piece integrated handlebar cleans up the front end. Geometry has shifted in a racier direction too, with a lower front end, longer reach and a steeper seat tube angle, though tyre clearance still runs out to 53mm for rougher terrain.

What it means for buyers

Both bikes are in Australian dealers now in three builds. The Revolt Advanced SL 2 and Devote Advanced SL 2 open the range at $8,999, the SL 1 sits at $9,999, and the top-spec SL 0 tops out at $13,999.
