Giant has launched a redesigned Trance Advanced E+, along with its women's counterpart, the Liv Intrigue Advanced E+. Both are 150mm rear travel trail e-bikes with 160mm forks, and both move to a new motor and a larger battery. BikeRadar reports shipping begins in November 2026, with some versions arriving in early 2027.

What has changed

The headline is the SyncDrive Pro 4 motor, which Giant claims makes 120 Nm of torque and 850W peak power. Pinkbike reports that is up from 85 Nm and 650W on the previous generation, and that the motor is 200 grams lighter at 2.4kg. It runs on a 48V system, which Giant says reduces heat and improves efficiency.

The Trance gets an 840Wh main battery, with an optional 280Wh range extender that takes total capacity to 1,120Wh. The Liv Intrigue uses a 560Wh main battery. Claimed weights are 21.9kg for the Giant and about 20kg for the Liv.

Features and pricing

Giant has added traction control that reduces assistance when it detects wheel slip, an electronic dropper post, and an anti theft system with remote locking, an alarm and tracking through the RideControl app. Tyre pressure monitoring is also part of the package. Rear travel rises 10mm over the outgoing model.

Overseas pricing gives a rough guide. In the UK the Advanced 0 E+ is listed at GBP 8,999, the Advanced 1 E+ at GBP 6,999 and the Advanced 2 E+ at GBP 5,499. Australian pricing and arrival dates had not been published in the sources we checked, so treat any local figure as unconfirmed until Giant Australia releases it.

What it means for buyers

If you are shopping for a trail e-bike, this is a reason to check Giant Australia stock dates before committing to a 2026 model, since the 2027 bike has a notably stronger motor and a bigger battery option. Use BikeFinder to compare the Trance E+ against other trail e-bikes on motor torque, battery capacity, weight and price once local pricing lands.
