Merida's redesigned Reacto aero road bike is now on sale in Australia

Merida's fifth generation Reacto aero road bike is now on sale through Australian dealers, with retailers including Cycleworld already listing the new MY27 range. Merida revealed the redesigned Reacto earlier in 2026, and it has since worked its way into local bike shops.

What has changed

According to UK retailer Wheelbase's technical breakdown of the launch, the new Reacto gets reshaped tube profiles and deeper aero integration aimed at cutting drag, along with lighter frames: the flagship CF5 frameset comes in around 950 grams and the standard CF3 frameset around 1,185 grams. Tyre clearance has grown to 32mm for more comfort and grip, there is a new S-FLEX seatpost for a smoother ride, and Merida has added its Disc Cooler technology for more consistent braking on long descents.

Groupsets and Australian pricing

The range spans from the flagship Reacto 9000 with Shimano Ultegra Di2 and a power meter, through a Reacto 7000 with SRAM Rival AXS, down to the Reacto 6000 and 5000 with Shimano 105 Di2 and an entry level Reacto 4000 with mechanical Shimano 105. In Australia, Cycleworld currently lists the Reacto 6000, which pairs the CF3 carbon frame with a Vision SC 60 carbon wheelset, at $6,149, down from a listed $6,299.

What it means for buyers

The new Reacto is aimed squarely at riders cross shopping aero road bikes from Giant, Trek and Specialized, and the wider tyre clearance brings it closer to what buyers now expect from an all round race bike rather than a pure aero specialist.
