BikeRadar reported on 29 September 2026 that Tom Pidcock raced Partington wheels at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. He finished seventh in the men's elite road race on 27 September. Partington is an Australian brand.
Why he chose them
Peter Nicholson, from Partington's marketing agency, said Pidcock chose the R-Series wheels for their balance of power transfer, low weight, and aerodynamics. Pidcock started on the R-Series Performance, and later switched to the R-Series Performance Ti after a crash with 80km to go. Both have 50mm deep rims. The Ti version adds titanium hardware, a titanium ratchet system and ceramic bearings.
The numbers
BikeRadar says Partington claims 1,200g for the R-Series Performance wheels, against a claimed 1,428g for Zipp's 454 NSW. These are manufacturer claims from different sources, not an independent comparison. The article does not give pricing or availability.
What it means for buyers
It is a marketing moment, not a product launch, but it shows a local brand being used at the top level of the sport. If you are upgrading wheels, compare claimed weight, rim depth and price on BikeFinder, and treat a world championship appearance as one data point, not a test result.
