Sea Otter Australia returns to Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast later this month. Event listings give the full program as 21 to 25 October 2026, with the summit and industry day on 22 October and the festival and expo on 23 to 25 October. The site is Hanging Rock Oval, within riding distance of the Mogo Trails network.

What is on offer

The NSW Government listing describes the expo as Australia's largest mountain bike show, with over 200 brands, demo rides and giveaways. Racing includes gravity enduro, cross-country marathon and e-bike racing, plus a large adaptive field and junior events. Ride On Magazine reports more than 250 brands represented, more than 120 exhibiting businesses, about 2,500 athletes and more than 10,000 expected attendees.

Brands and launches

Ride On lists Scott, Bosch eBike Systems, Thule, Shimano, Maxxis, Fox, Smith, Muc-Off and Velosolutions among those attending or featured, and says Scott will launch its all-new 2027 range. Flow Mountain Bike adds SRAM and RockShox to the expo list. No specific Scott models, specs or Australian pricing have been announced in the sources we reviewed, so treat launch details as unconfirmed until Scott or its Australian distributor publishes them.

New this year

Flow notes a new Shimano XC Crit race in the expo area, a free trade access program for independent bike shops, and course changes for the marathon and the Ottercross loop. Ticket prices were not listed in the guides, so check the organiser's site before you go.

What it means for buyers

Demo days are one of the few places you can ride several brands back to back, including e-MTBs with different motor systems, before spending. If you are weighing up a new mountain bike or e-bike, use the event to narrow your shortlist, then compare specs and Australian prices side by side on BikeFinder.
