Specialized brings back the S-Works Diverge, its lightest gravel bike yet

Specialized has brought back the S-Works badge on its Diverge gravel bike, less than a year after cutting the top tier from the range. The new S-Works Diverge 4 uses the brand's highest grade carbon layup and lands in Australia at AU$18,900, making it the flagship of the current Diverge lineup.

What has changed

The standard Diverge 4 range launched in September 2025 using Specialized's Fact 9r carbon. The new S-Works model steps up to Fact 12r, the same tier used on the brand's road flagships. Specialized says the switch saves 200 grams over the 9r frame, with a painted size 56cm frame now weighing a claimed 950 grams. The bike also gets a redesigned Future Shock 3.3 stem, which now routes cables internally rather than externally as on the previous Pro LTD model.

Build and geometry

The S-Works Diverge rolls on the same Roval Terra CLX III wheels as the outgoing Pro LTD, but swaps the Shimano GRX Di2 drivetrain for a SRAM Red XPLR groupset, along with a CeramicSpeed headset and bottom bracket. Tyre clearance stays at 50mm, and the frame keeps the SWAT 4.0 down tube storage compartment with a larger, simpler door. Geometry is unchanged from last year's update: a slacker head tube, dropped bottom bracket and longer chainstays aimed at more stable handling on rough terrain.

What it means for buyers

At AU$18,900, the S-Works Diverge sits well above what most Australian riders will spend on a gravel bike. It is a showcase for what Specialized can do at the top of its range rather than a mainstream pick. For most buyers, the more useful news is that the Diverge 4 platform underneath it, in Expert, Comp and base builds, is unchanged and still one of the more capable gravel bikes on the market.
