Specialized issues stop-ride recall on Turbo Como SL forks in Australia

Specialized has recalled the fork on every Turbo Como SL electric bike sold in Australia since 2021, after the fork steerer tube was found to crack and risk failing. The recall is listed on the ACCC Product Safety register (reference 2026/20864) and was reported locally by Bicycle Network on 31 March 2026.

Which bikes are affected

The recall covers the fork on all Turbo Como SL 4.0 and 5.0 bikes, in every colour and size, with either belt or chain drive, sold from 2021 onward. Standard Turbo Como bikes without the SL designation are not affected, so check your model name before you act. Specialized has issued a stop-ride notice, which means owners should not ride the bike until the fork is replaced.

What owners should do

Specialized says the steerer tube can develop a crack that may lead to the fork failing, with a risk of serious injury or death if it fails while riding. Owners should contact an authorised Specialized retailer to book the fork replacement free of charge, or to arrange a refund. Specialized Australia can be reached on 1300 743 370. Replacement forks were expected to reach Australia from May 2026.
